More about this game
In Paperbound, your goal is to survive a 5-screen scrolling obstacle course filled with spikes and spinning blades. You control a paper square that runs automatically, jumping over gaps and hazards. The game features a built-in level editor where you can place ground, floating platforms, and various blades. As you survive longer, the camera speed increases, making jumps tighter. A run ends instantly if you hit a trap, fall into a pit, or get crushed by the screen edge.
Tips
- You can jump slightly after running off a ledge thanks to a brief coyote time window.
- In the level editor, spikes automatically snap to the top of ground surfaces, and hanging spikes snap underneath floating platforms.
- During the boss fight, watch out for ground spikes thrown by the Warden; time your jumps to clear them safely.
FAQ
- How do I defeat the boss?
- In the boss level, collect the glowing energy orbs scattered across the screens. Each orb you grab automatically fires a rocket at the Prism Warden, reducing its health.
- How does the level editor work?
- Click the Edit button to pause the game and open the tools. You can add ground, spikes, and spinning blades to a 40-unit grid, or delete existing pieces to design your own 5-screen gauntlet.
- Why does the game speed up?
- As you progress through a level, the scrolling speed gradually increases from its base 840 units up to an extra 230 units, requiring faster reflexes to survive the traps.
