More about this game
Your goal is to locate a single hidden star on an 8x8 grid containing 64 total cells. Each time you tap an empty cell, it reveals a specific color indicating its exact distance from the star. The colors range from black for very far away to white for a direct hit. You must use these visual clues, along with audio and haptic feedback, to deduce the target's location. A run ends when you finally uncover the star, displaying your total step count.
Tips
- Start by tapping near the center of the 8x8 grid to get a baseline distance measurement and avoid wasting steps on the edges.
- A green Very Near clue means the star is exactly 1 step away, so it must be in one of the directly adjacent horizontal or vertical cells.
- If you reveal a red Far clue, the star is exactly 4 or 5 steps away, while a black Very Far clue means it is 6 or more steps away.
FAQ
- What do the different colors mean?
- The colors indicate the exact step distance to the star: black is very far, red is far, orange is medium, yellow is near, green is very near, and white is the star.
- How is the distance to the star calculated?
- Distance is calculated using horizontal and vertical steps between your tapped cell and the star. Diagonal moves are not counted as a single step, so you must add the row and column differences together.
- Do the sounds and vibrations mean anything?
- Yes. You hear a hot sound and feel a 100-millisecond vibration when 1 step away, a warm sound and 50-millisecond pulse for 2 to 3 steps, and a cold sound for anything further.
