Your goal is to guide Fern through three dangerous forest trails to reach the golden gates. In each level, you must leap across platforms, dodge sharp thorns, and stomp patrolling enemies while searching for the hidden key. The trails get harder with narrower platforms and faster enemies, culminating in a final boss fight against Bramblebelly. A run ends in victory when you defeat the boss, or in defeat if you lose all three of your hearts to hazards.
Tips
- You can hold the jump button slightly before landing to buffer your next leap, making it easier to bounce across narrow platforms.
- Stomping an enemy bounces you upward and awards 150 points. Use this extra height to safely clear large gaps or avoid nearby thorns on the ground.
- During the final boss fight, wait for Bramblebelly to finish his charging attack before jumping on his head. You need five successful stomps to win.
FAQ
- How do I open the door at the end?
- You must find and collect the golden key hidden somewhere in the level before reaching the door. If you touch the door without the key, it will not open.
- What happens if I fall off the screen?
- Falling off the bottom of the screen or touching thorns will cost you one of your three hearts. You will respawn nearby, keeping your collected coins and key.
- How do I defeat the boss?
- You must jump on Bramblebelly's head five times to defeat him. Watch out for his charge attack, which moves much faster than his normal walking speed.
