More about this game

String Theory is a rhythm game where you tap matching frets as falling notes reach the target line. You have 45 seconds to hit as many notes as possible, building your combo for higher scores. Hitting notes perfectly awards 100 points, while normal hits give 60. As you accumulate total hits across runs, your guitar evolves from a garage acoustic to a cherry electric, and finally a neon legend. The game ends when the 45-second timer runs out.

Tips

  • Aim for perfect timing. Hitting notes exactly on the line gives you 100 points instead of 60.
  • Keep your combo going. Your score multiplier increases based on your combo, up to a maximum of 30.
  • Don't worry if you miss. Your total hits carry over between 45-second sets to help you unlock the next guitar.

FAQ

How do I unlock new guitars?
You unlock the Cherry electric guitar after 10 total hits, and the Neon legend after 25 total hits. Your progress is saved between sets.
How does the scoring work?
A perfect hit is worth 100 points, and a normal hit is 60 points. Your score is multiplied by your combo, which caps at a 30-note streak.
How long is a set?
Each set lasts exactly 45 seconds. The notes will spawn faster as the timer progresses, reaching maximum speed at 25 seconds.
