More about this game
In Shadow Dance, you face off against enemies in a high-speed duel of memory and reflexes. Your goal is to survive 100 rounds to become the Shadow Master. The core loop involves watching the enemy perform a sequence of attack gestures, memorizing them, and repeating the exact sequence back before your counter timer expires. As you progress, gesture sequences become longer and the opening attack windows get shorter, dropping to 0.5 seconds. A run ends when your health drops to zero.
Tips
- Pay close attention to the opening attack window, which starts at 1.5 seconds. If you fail to block an attack in time, you take 4 damage multiplied by the timeout penalty.
- Mistakes during the counter phase deal a massive 12 base damage, so be precise with your swipes and spins instead of rushing through the sequence.
- Bosses appear every 10 rounds and have a 1.35x damage multiplier. Defeating a boss restores 25 health points, while standard enemies only restore 5 health points.
FAQ
- What happens if I miss a gesture?
- If you input the wrong gesture during the enemy's attack phase, you take 4 base damage. Missing a gesture during your counterattack phase deals 12 base damage, and the sequence continues.
- How long do I have to counterattack?
- You start with a base counter time of 3 seconds to input the entire sequence. This timer increases slightly as you reach higher levels, giving you more time for longer combos.
- How many levels are in the game?
- There are 100 rounds to clear in total. You will face a powerful boss character every 10 rounds, culminating in a final battle against Master Masamune at round 100.
