Pair Pagoda is a tile-matching puzzle game where your goal is to clear the entire board. You must find and match pairs of identical tiles, but you can only select tiles that are not covered and have at least one free side. Matching pairs quickly within three seconds builds a combo, awarding bonus points. The run ends when you clear all tiles to advance, or if you run out of valid matches, prompting a shuffle or restart.
Tips
- Prioritize matching tiles that are covering others. Freeing up the pieces underneath will give you more options to keep your combo alive and prevent dead ends.
- Always check the Matches counter at the top of the screen. It tells you exactly how many valid pairs are currently available to match on the board.
- Chain matches within the 3-second window to build your combo. Reaching a combo of 10 awards the maximum 600 points per pair, significantly boosting your final score.
FAQ
- Why can't I select certain tiles?
- A tile is locked and cannot be selected if it is covered by another tile on top, or if it is blocked by other tiles on both its left and right sides. You must free them first.
- What happens if there are no more matches?
- If the board has zero free pairs left, a popup will appear. You can choose to shuffle the remaining tiles to continue playing, or restart the level entirely from the beginning.
- How is the score calculated?
- Each pair gives a base of 200 points. Matching quickly builds a combo, adding 40 extra points per combo level, up to a maximum of 600 points per match. High combos also spawn petal effects.
