More about this game
Fossil Frenzy: Desert Dig is an excavation game where you clear dirt to find buried bones. You start with a set amount of time on the clock to uncover as many fossils as possible. The core loop requires balancing speed and precision by switching between two tools: a wide shovel and a narrow brush. As you dig, you must watch out for red dynamite sticks hidden in the dirt. A run ends either when the timer reaches zero, or immediately if you accidentally expose half of a dynamite stick.
Tips
- Use the shovel to clear large areas quickly, as it has a 112-pixel radius, but switch to the 42-pixel brush near danger.
- Listen for the warning hiss and watch for the red flash when dynamite reaches thirty-four percent exposure to stop digging immediately.
- You do not need to clear every grain of sand; fossils automatically pop out and score points once they reach a sixty-eight percent reveal threshold.
FAQ
- How do I score points?
- You score points by revealing fossils hidden in the dirt. Small fossils award 40 points, medium fossils grant 90 points, and large fossils give you 180 points once they are sufficiently uncovered.
- What happens if I dig up dynamite?
- If you reveal half of a dynamite stick, it triggers an explosion, shakes the screen, and ends your game immediately. You will lose the chance to uncover any remaining fossils.
- What happens when the timer runs out?
- When the clock hits zero, the round finishes and your final score is tallied based on the fossils you uncovered. You also receive a random piece of dinosaur trivia to read.
