Slide and merge numbered tiles on a grid to reach the 2048 tile.
How to play
- Slide the tiles up, down, left, or right to move every piece across the board.
- Match two tiles with the exact same number to merge them into a single tile.
- Keep merging tiles to double their value and increase your overall score with each combination.
- Reach the 2048 tile to win the game, or continue playing in Endless mode.

More about this game
The goal is to slide and merge matching numbered tiles on a grid to create a tile with the value 2048. Each move slides all tiles in the chosen direction until they hit the edge or another tile. When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one with double the value. After every move, a new tile spawns in an empty spot. The run ends when the grid is completely full and no adjacent tiles match to allow further movement.
Tips
- Keep your highest value tile in one corner to prevent it from getting trapped in the middle of the grid where it becomes difficult to merge.
- Focus on building a chain of descending numbers leading to your highest tile to easily fold them into each other when you need to free up space.
- Use the undo button to reverse a move if you accidentally mess up your board layout. The game stores your last ten moves in its history.

- What happens when I reach 2048?
- When you create a tile with the value 2048, you win the game. In Endless mode, the win condition is disabled, allowing you to continue playing to reach even higher numbers.
- What are the different game modes?
- There are three modes available. Classic uses a standard four-by-four grid, Hard expands the board to a five-by-five grid, and Endless lets you play past the 2048 tile.
- How is the score calculated?
- Your score increases by the value of the newly merged tile each time you combine two tiles. For example, merging two 64 tiles adds 128 to your total score.
