More about this game
Engage in a tactical duel where you and an enemy commander take turns moving across an 8x8 board. You can choose to move like a rook (up to three tiles) or a knight (leaping in an L-shape). Collect runes to heal 6 health or boost your next spell's damage by 3. If you end your move within two tiles of the enemy, cast a spell to deal damage. The duel ends when either you or the enemy commander drops from 24 health to zero.
Tips
- Spells deal 7 base damage if you are directly adjacent to the enemy, but only 5 damage if you are two tiles away. Position yourself carefully.
- Knight moves allow you to leap over the enemy commander, which is incredibly useful for escaping tight corners or grabbing runes safely without getting hit.
- Stacking damage runes increases your spell boost by 3 each time. Collect multiple sapphire runes to prepare a massive strike when you finally get in range.
FAQ
- How do I heal my character?
- Move onto a tile with a green healing rune. It will instantly restore 6 health points to your archmage, up to the maximum of 24 health.
- Why is the spell button disabled?
- You can only cast a spell if the enemy commander is within a Manhattan distance of two tiles. If they are further away, you must end your turn.
- How does the enemy decide where to move?
- The enemy evaluates available rook and knight moves to get closer to you. They will prioritize landing on healing runes if their health drops below 16.
