Make your gameAbout Malla Viva
Draw characters layer by layer, generate a physics mesh, add a skeleton, and pose them across keyframes to create custom real-time animations.
How to play
- Draw your character using eight colors and three brush sizes across up to six separate layers.
- Switch to Mesh mode to automatically generate a Delaunay mesh, tapping to add custom vertex points.
- Drag across your drawing in Bones mode to connect up to sixteen bones into a skeleton.
- Add up to eight keyframes in Animate mode, rotating bones or dragging the mesh to pose.
- Press play to watch the system interpolate your keyframes into a looping animation at three speeds.

More about this game
Malla Viva lets you build and animate 2D characters from scratch. You start by drawing parts across up to six distinct layers using a brush, eraser, and fill tool. Next, the tool generates a Delaunay mesh based on your drawing's outline, which you can refine by adding manual points. You then drag to snap up to sixteen bones together, forming a skeleton. Finally, you pose the skeleton and drag vertices across up to eight keyframes. The system interpolates the movements, looping your custom animation at fast, normal, or slow speeds.
Tips
- Draw moving parts like arms and legs on separate layers. This prevents the mesh from fusing them to the body, allowing cleaner bone rotations.
- When drawing bones, you must drag at least 16 pixels for the bone to register. Start dragging from the tip of an existing bone to chain them.
- Be careful when changing the mesh density between low, medium, and high. Generating a new mesh will reset any vertex deformations you saved in your keyframes.
FAQ
- How do I animate the character without bones?
- In Animate mode, you can drag the mesh directly. A dashed circle appears around your cursor, letting you pull vertices to deform the shape without needing a skeleton.
- What happens if I make a mistake while drawing?
- The drawing mode includes an undo button that remembers your last 10 strokes or fills per layer. You can also use the eraser tool or clear the entire layer.
- How do I change the animation playback speed?
- In the Animate tab, tap the speed button to cycle between fast, normal, and slow playback. This changes how long the system takes to transition between your 8 keyframes.
